Dental Sealants have been used as a protective tool in dentistry since the 1960’s, due to their effective shielding abilities. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), nine out of ten cavities in school-aged children form in the deep pits and crevices of their teeth.

They are thin coatings made of a plastic material that is typically painted on in a liquid form. This liquid sealant is bonded to the teeth and forms a protective coating.
