Your permanent teeth were intended to last a lifetime, but in some cases, there are circumstances that arise that require a tooth to be extracted. Penhold Dental offers Penhold Single Tooth Extraction services, here at our Penhold Dental clinic.

An extraction is generally recommended because a tooth is damaged beyond repair from trauma or advanced tooth decay. At Penhold Dental we are able to perform single or multiple teeth extractions in the comfort of our Penhold office. Our friendly Dental Team will help you throughout the process by providing answers to all of your questions and concerns about your single tooth extraction.

Some of the Reasons Why You May require an Extraction Procedure Include:

  • Active infection or the risk of infection from a diseased tooth
  • Periodontal (Gum Disease)
  • Crowding
  • Wisdom Teeth Extraction
  • Baby Tooth Removal

Wisdom Teeth Extraction | Penhold Dental CareYour Choice for Penhold Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Why Teeth are Usually Extracted

Since your wisdom teeth are typically the last teeth in the mouth to develop. There is sometimes not enough room to accommodate the them which impedes their ability to erupt into the mouth correctly. In some cases, the teeth will partially emerge through the gums and can result in cavities, crowding, or gum infections. They will often develop diagonally and horizontally, causing significant problems. This uneven development may be responsible for a myriad of oral health problems which include teeth crowding and damage to the adjacent second molars.

When there is not enough space for the wisdom teeth to erupt at all, they can cause pain in the gums and bone as they shift. This is known as ‘Impacted Wisdom Teeth.’ When your teeth are impacted, the opening around the teeth may become a fertile ground for bacteria to start developing and may lead to an infection in the gum tissues. As a result of this infection, you may experience discomfort, swelling, pain, and illness. The early removal of impacted wisdom teeth is often recommended to avoid future problems and to avoid costly surgical procedures.
